Structural Steel:
- All material and work shall conform to the latest AISC Specifications for Design, Fabrication, and Erection of Structural Steel for Buildings.
- Structural Steel: Wide flange I beam - shall conform to ASTM A572 GR . 50, Fy= 50 ksi.; Other rolled sections shall conform to ASTM A36, Fy= 36 ksi
- Structural Steel: Square and rectangular tubing - shall conform to ASTM A500, Grade B, Fy- 46ksi
- Structural Steel: Plate steel - shall conform to ASTM A36, Fy- 36ksi
- All structural steel is painted with a rust inhibitive (red oxide) primer. Also available: Zinc chromate hot-dip galvanized.
Sheet Metal: Decking:
- Decking: 5" x 11" x 20 gauge, ASTM A446 GR C, Fy=40 KSI, galvanized steel with baked enamel finish.
Wall Sheathing:
- 7/16" OSB - A pressure laminated panel consisting of the following:
- Expanded Polystyrene Core - min. of .95 pcf complying with ASTM C-578-Type 1
- Oriented Strand Board (OSB) - shall be identified on the panel with an APA or PFS performance rating mark, with an Exposure 1 durability rating: min. physical properties shall be tested and as described in APA PRP-108 or PFS PRP-133.
- Adhesives - class 2, type II designed for structural lamination as supplied by Ashland Adhesive NER-165 and Rohm & Hass Co. NEW-451.
- Prefinished Sheet Metal - Precoated Galvanized Sheet: ASTM A 755/A; ASTM A 653/A 653M, Grade A, G90 Coating Designation, precoated with Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 finish system on exposed metal surfaces.
- Core & Adhesive same as "A"
- .035 FRP - Color integral Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester Panels feature non-porous surface. (must be applied over OSB option)
- Core & Adhesive same as "A"
Wood Trusses:
- Lumber used for truss members shall be in accordance with published Values of lumber rules writing agencies approved by board of review of American Lumber Standards Committee. Lumber shall be identified by Grade mark of a lumber inspection bureau or agency approved by that Board, and shall be as shown on design drawings.
- Moisture content of lumber shall be no less than 7% nor greater than 19% at time of fabrication.
- Adjustment of values for duration of load or conditions of use shall be in accordance with National Design Specifications for wood construction (NDS).

Welding:
- All welding shall be in accordance with ANSI/AWS D1.1 - 90 (with E70XX Electrodes).
- All Structural shop welding shall be done by Certified Mohawk Welders.
- Steel shop connections will be welded and field connections will be bolted unless otherwise noted on plans. Mohawk, with the approval of the project engineer, may change shop welds to field welds.
- All slag shall be cleaned from all welds and inspected. Steel to be painted with a rust inhibitive primer. (Red oxide)
Fasteners:
Anchor Bolts:
- Anchor Bolts are ¾" Kingpin Ultra Wedge Anchor by US Anchor with 5 5/8" Min, Embedment. Provide 2 ½" minimum edge distance, located 4" from wall stub.
Bolted Connections:
- All structural erection bolts to conform to ASTM A325.
- All drilled holes in structural steel will be deburred.
- Flat structural washers (minimum of one) will be used on all bolted connections.
- All bolts shall be tightened using AISC turn-of-the-nut method or specified torque.
Screws:
- Fastening shall be performed per installation prints provided by Mohawk.
- Installation screws will be furnished with electrode deposited cadmium coating unless otherwise noted.
- Self-drilling and self-tapping screws will have a sufficient cut point and a ½" O.D. dished tapping metal backed neoprene washer.
General:
- General contractor shall verify all dimensions and layout prior to Framefast arrival.
- Provide pedestrian protecton and warnings during construction which comply with all local, federal, and OSHA codes.
- Prior to steel erection of any kind, the general contractor shall grade, back-fill and otherwise prepare the job site to allow for rolling scaffold and ensure the safe working conditions including the removal or relocation of overhead power lines.
- Any grade or elevation situations which deviate from approved Austin Mohawk plans must be conveyed to Austin Mohawk prior to fabrication.
- A work area is required extending approximately 10' beyond buildings in all directions to the extend practical. The work area will be flat, comprised of hard packed dirt or gravel, asphalt, or concrete, and free of open excavation, debris, construction equipment and construction workers. An additional flat work space a minimum of 25' x 25' or (as practical) shall be provided adjacent of the building for unloading and storing of materials.
- Temporary electrical power is to be provided.
- Dumpster for trash and debris is required to be provided.
